What We Do
Spanning 30,000 sq. feet inside the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA), the Center for Advanced Surgical & Medical Simulation Solutions is one of the largest, most comprehensive medical simulation and training centers in the country.
At CSIHE, we pride ourselves on offering the highest caliber training to a wide range of healthcare teams and industry professionals, with the ultimate goal of improving provider care and enhancing patient outcomes. CSIHE is a place for those in healthcare to safely hone existing skills, develop new competencies and train on emerging technologies in a supportive, yet challenging, environment. Reality is projected so powerfully and completely that trainees react as they would under real-life circumstances – without the dire consequences a real-world setting would impose.
Our content experts assess clients in the following areas:
- Medical knowledge
- Routine and acute care delivery
- Procedural competencies
- Team work and communication
- Crisis leadership and situational awareness
Simulations take place within a variety of learning environments at CSIHE, including a BioSkills Laboratory, Mock Hospital and OR Suite, Standardized Patient Rooms and 125-seat Auditorium – all of which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and devices for a fully integrated experience. ACLS/BLS training lab, conference rooms, classrooms and orientation/debriefing rooms are also available for use.
Trouble traveling? No problem. Our Mobile Simulation Unit allows us to take our immersive trainings to other facilities throughout the region.
