The Medical Simulation Fellowship at Summa Health System/Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA) provides expert training and experience needed to develop leaders in health professions simulation, administration and research. This competitive program offers Fellows an opportunity to emerge as top candidates in this high-demand, rewarding career.

Summa Health System, in collaboration with the Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron (ABIA), is pleased to sponsor the region’s first Medical Simulation Fellowship based in the Summa Department of Emergency Medicine.  The Summa/ABIA program is a one to two year program of study that accepts one to two fellows per year.

Fellows are accepted after completing an approved allopathic/osteopathic primary training program in Emergency Medicine and practice clinically in three local Emergency Department. Participation in a wide array of simulation training occurs at the Akron City Hospital Virtual Care Simulation Laboratory (VCSL) and the Center for Simulation and Integrated Healthcare Education (CSHIE) at ABIA.
